How soon will you be able to finish my website?

The amount of time needed for us to finish your website depends on how big and complicated your website is going to be, how many other projects we are currently working on and how quickly you will provide us with content for your website. However generally speaking it takes 1 week to 1 month to complete a website.

What are accepted payment methods?

We accept checks, cash and direct transfers through bank. We also accept PayPal however if you prefer to use this method you would have to cover PayPal's fees as well.

What is a domain, web space and email account?

Domain is basically the address of your website which is almost always in the following format: www.your-website-address.com. It is the address that other users type in their web address to view your website. Think of it as an address of a place in real life, only this is virtually.
Web space is a space given out in a server directory where your website and all it's files are stored.
Email account is exactly that, you have an email address that is on your domain, for example info@your-website-address.com. It allows you to send and receive email as well as do other tasks such as store contacts and keep up a calendar.

How much do I have to pay for domain and web/email hosting? (and why?)

The current (July 2008) fee for domain is 9.95 per year, this fee is paid to Yahoo or other companies such as GoDaddy that offer domain registration/purchases, this is basically an address online so that others can find your website by typing in it's address.
Our web and email hosting service fee is 10.00 per month which covers both web hosting and email. 10.00 is to host the website on our server in comparison to Yahoo which is 11.95 a month. We often provide discounts if you get hosting up-front for a year or more.
No matter where your website is hosted you will have to pay hosting fees, just in some companies less in others more. These fees help cover some of the expenses we have for server maintenence, internet and other expenses.

Why host our website with you and not someone else?

We offer professional hosting services on a professional web server, it is a business class server which is stable and runs fast. A lot of hosting companies host hundreds or thousands of websites and that can slow down their servers if they dont upgrade fast enough, we only have about 20 websites total so the load time is faster. We have a professional backup solution that protects us from data loss, for example if a hard drive fails we can quickly replace it with another, if the operating system got corrupt we can re-install it and restore all data to the previous day, and do this with minimul down-time.

Can I direct you for a lot of the details in design?

We suggest that you leave it up to us to make design decisions and only provide content. However if you really want to control many aspects of the design such as colors, fonts, sizes and so on, we can work with you on this however we would have to increase what you are paying since it would increase the amount of time we will need to put in to the design of the site and communicating with you for the extra modifications.

I think I'd like to have someone else work on my website.

If you took a class and now want to try to modify the website your self, or have a friend do it for free or almost free. First of all thats a bad idea since unless that person had years of experience they wont do anything good and could mess up the website. Second, we simply don't allow it for various reasons, you hired us to make your website good so lets keep it that way.
